Dear
visitor,
We really welcome people from all over the world with
diverse backgrounds.
Astrology
is my hobby for many years. Like all serious hobbyists, every spare
minute I can find, I use for diving deeper in to the subject of
Astrology. When I created this site, I wanted to show by example, the good side of
the internet. How can you create a benign, content rich, captivating,
thought provoking web
site out of something you are passionate about, no matter whether it
is stamp collecting, painting, gardening or what ever, and how it can be used in a good way to up lift an
another person or a group of people, both educationally
as well as spiritually and culturally more...
Of
course, I burnt a lot of midnight oil for making this site, but I
think it is worth that effort and The
site mainly contains free astrological resources.
While
the site is dedicated for Sri Lankans living abroad, who find it
hard to get proper astrological guidance's in line with
established Sri Lankan traditions, this
site serves all those who have faith in "Jyotish " the
Vadic system of Astrology, practiced in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Tibet
& India.
Therefore
almost all the resources in this site are offered free to you.
Except for the time consuming manually written full reading which
I some times accept to write in order help a person in difficulty
as well as to keep my astrological skills in a high degree of
second to none world class Vedic Astrologer status. Just like the standard of my
web development skills, which I like to keep always up to date, at
least for my own selfish satisfaction and assurance, as being among
one of the best few.
No other
Vedic or non Vedic Astrological site in the web offers so much resources
for free as "Sri Lanka Jyotisha" (If not show me). That is because,
this is not a commercially oriented web site. If so I could have easily put a
shopping cart and would be better off vending astrological paraphernalia like, talismans,
charms, rings, gems, rudrakshas, yanthars, manthras, courses, books, software and all other
associated products and services.
Much
more than pushing an astrological reading to you, the main purpose of this
site is helping to preserve the good traditions and the wealth of knowledge, like Jyotish,
Ayurvedic Herbal Medicine and Yoga, inherited through ancient
cultures such as ours, not only within the boundaries of our mother
countries, but also among the
expatriate Sri Lankan and Indian communities and their children living in Multicultural and
Multi Ethnic societies such as Australia, USA and Canada.
So they can enrich and contribute to
the new environment in areas, like Ayurvedic Medicine,
where many rediscoveries, cures, treatments, chemical
compounds can be found for the benefit of health and well being of the
mankind.
For an
example, some time
back while talking about diabetes, a person gave me a little piece of
dried leaf with a handful of sugar and told me to chew the piece of
leaf for a few seconds and then eat the sugar, to my surprise I felt
like eating a mouth full of sand with no taste of sugar at all and
only for sugar for about 2 hours. Realizing what a inexpensive natural way and a
good idea this is
to deter diabetes patients from eating excess sugar, and how nice it
could be for every one of those diabetes patients to have an own
plant at home, if so what a great merit it will be for my next life,
later I asked
him for several times, please do show me the plant or just give me
one full leaf or a flower. So with a help of a systematic botanist I
can identify it. But he never showed me an unbroken leaf nor a
flowering part, telling he also got it from somebody who does not
like to show the plant. - It could be a wild plant growing in Andra
Pradesh in India. Does any one have an idea what is it or what it looks
like?
The
long term aim of the site is to become an get people interested in Eastern
Astrology and show them that phenomenon called "Karma"
exists and it is a real thing. In short what you reap now is what
you have sown in the past and it is written in your stars
For
the visitors from other cultures, this site offers a good insight
in to customs and traditions of Sri Lanka
