What is Rahu Kala ?
It is the inauspicious time slot of the day. Rahu Kala changes according to day of the week and the time of sun rise and sun set.
Since Sri Lanka is situated in the tropics and therefore the length of the day and the night is close to 12 hours, it is relatively easy to tell the approximate times of Rahu Kala for each day of the week.
It is a different story if you live in Northern hemisphere or the Southern hemisphere. Then you have to find the times of sun rise and sun set (Click here to find) for the particular day and the place (Click here for

Find the length of the day. Divide the length of the Day (Or Night - according to the time of your interest) to 8 equal portions.
Sundays - 8th portion from the sun rise (set) is Rahu Kala
Mondays - 2nd portion from the sun rise (set) is Rahu Kala
Tuesdays - 7th portion from the sun rise (set) is Rahu Kala
